Obituary

Joan Galbraith Peirce, 74 of Sharon Hill, PA., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

Born in Glenolden, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Rugal) Galbraith. She moved to Sharon Hill in 1997.

She had a deep appreciation of the environment, particularly trees. Some of her fondest memories were of summers spent down the shore. Her interests included watching tennis, drawing, painting and fashion design. Family was important to her and she had this with her daughter. They enjoyed many camping trips, time at the beach and sharing healthy eating.

Her strong relationship with God sustained her through numerous difficult trials. She experienced many miracles from which she drew strength.

Survived by her daughter Gwendolyn Louise Peirce, brother Thomas Galbraith and sister Frances Fisher.

Due to the current situation, services for Joan will be private.

Flowers are appreciated.

Gwen,
We were truly saddened to hear of your mother’s passing. Please know that we are praying for you during this difficult time. As an English teacher, I know you can appreciate a powerful quote, so I wanted to share one with you. Helen Keller once said, “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” I hope you find some comfort in these words. You have our deepest condolences.
Love, Chrissy, Bob, M.K. & Lizzy

“Oh when I look back now/...summer seemed to last forever/and if I had a choice/Yeah, I’d always wanna be there...” Bryan Adams
Memories of girlhood summers spent with Joan on LBI were like “living in a kooky little paradise” with a fair headed elfin sprite whose smiles and contagious giggles matched the beauty of the surroundings and the magic of endless summer days are treasures in my heart and soul. I will always love that teenage girl who walked with me into adulthood and beyond. We went different ways when the road forked but I never went alone...those days always came with me. May her love and spirit enfold you, Gwen, as you walk the difficult road of loss. And may the joy she embodied as a young girl return to your heart and enrich your life. Our sympathies, Marianne and George Schuman

Gwen, I’m so sorry for your loss. I remember how much your Mother enjoyed sketching and painting! And her times at the Jersey shore. I will look forward to seeing her again in heaven.
